What started as Courtney Flynn, of flynnknit, casually sharing what she was making with her most recent LolaBean yarn acquisition, turned into a really fun collaboration!

Courtney is releasing two brand-new patterns: the Calypso Cowl and the Showtime Stripes Hat and I've created a special yarn kit in two different palettes so you can bring her designs to life in full Beetlejuice style.

The first design, the Calypso Cowl, is a nod to one of the most memorable moments in the movie, yes, that closing “dancing in the air” scene! Courtney worked in a bold plaid motif, reminiscent of a certain character’s shirt, then moved into a smooth mauve stockinette section that calls back to the spray-painted walls during Delia and Otho’s redecorating scene. The piece is finished with a twist before the ends are grafted, giving the whole cowl a bit of quirky Beetlejuice energy.

The second design, the Showtime Stripes Hat, takes its cues straight from Beetlejuice’s iconic suit and the mischievous line that made him famous. Starting with a playful corrugated rib brim, the hat flows into bold, alternating stripes. It’s the kind of project that keeps your hands busy without demanding too much attention. Perfect knitting for a cozy fall night with a favorite movie playing in the background.

Now for the yarn! To celebrate Courtney’s designs, I’ve put together a kit featuring three skeins of my Pinto Bean DK. It's enough yarn to knit both the Calypso Cowl and Showtime Stripes Hat.

While both designs were sparked by the Strange & Unusual palette, I couldn’t resist adding a second option.... The Juice Is Loose! Because of course we needed a black light reactive Beetlejuice green. Both palettes work beautifully for either pattern (or both!), so the only real challenge will be deciding which one to cast on first.

This yarn is HAND DYED by yours truly & made to order! I ask that you order enough yarn to finish and complete your project so that your skeins are better matched. While I try my best to maintain consistency with all of my yarns, I ask that you remember that with hand dyed yarns, NO TWO SKEINS WILL EVER BE IDENTICAL!!!!

Care Instructions: Machine wash gentle. Lay flat to dry. (Hand washing is STRONGLY recommended to maintain the color and quality of your finished piece.)

*NOTES - All companies, including companies who purchase dyed yarns from a mill can have a problem with bleeding or transfer of colors. This mostly occurs in blues and teals, but can occur with any very dark and saturated color. Every effort has been made to ensure that this yarn does not bleed. The color in this yarn has been set BUT you may or may not see an insignificant amount of color exhaust in the water during your first wash but nothing thereafter. This is common with most hand dyed yarns and again, hand washing is strongly suggested to maintain the color and quality of your finished piece.

Colors may vary slightly from the picture, due to lighting conditions, camera calibration and your computer monitor settings.
