Back in February I shared a post on our Instagram page about LBYC's plans for 2023. I talked about how I wanted to make this year all about crochet. Although I have experienced an incredible loss and had to push things back, I would still like to show some love to my friends that enjoy crocheting. As I mentioned in that post, I feel like crochet gets overlooked and doesn't receive the attention that it rightly deserves.

If you have been following my journey from the beginning, you may recall the stories of Miss Bonnie and how she handed me a ball of yarn and a crochet hook and taught me how to stitch like a pro. The energy that I felt during those days is unmatched. I felt like I could take on the world one stitch at a time. I miss that feeling. Before the business, before the drama, there was just making. It all felt really simple.

The majority of the projects that I will be working on for the rest of this year will be related to crochet. To help kick things off, I reached out to my friend, Tuesday Bassen, who is a kick ass apparel designer, graphic designer, illustrator, mom, wife and overall outstanding human being. I asked her to create some images to help illustrate how fun and bad ass crocheting can be. She did not disappoint.

Five dollars from every t-shirt has already been donated to the National Black Doulas Association, whose overall mission is to help fight the Black Maternal Mortality and Morbidity rate in this country and beyond through their educational development at the NBDA Leadership Academy™, their Multi-level Doula Training Program.
